Pakistan Army Reaffirms Political Process following Wikileaks

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan army reaffirms political process after WikiLeaks Pakistan’s army stressed its loyalty to civilian politics right after diplomatic correspondence leaked by whistleblowers WikiLeaks mentioned the military had deemed deposing the country’s president. Cables through the US embassy in Islamabad obtained by WikiLeaks and noted inside the New York Instances and also the Guardian newspapers this week also mentioned President Asif Ali Zardari had created preparations to get a coup. In the military’s initial response to the allegations, spokesman Major Common Athar Abbas stated Saturday “the army features a demonstrated policy of supporting the political method inside the confines of structure of Pakistan.” Abbas also said that Kayani “holds all nationwide leaders in esteem,” which includes the principal opposition chief Nawaz Sharif.
